From it's simple origins as a fishing village, Kusadasi has
erupted into one of Turkey's most extensive, cosmopolitan and
lively holiday resorts and a great base for exploring the
ancient cities in the vicinity. Here you have the amazing
contradiction that is Kusadasi - something for every
nationality, including local restaurants as well as plenty for
the fast food fans. While the narrow-alleyed Old Quarter does
still exist, there is increasing evidence of the 20th century -
particularly in the number of new hotels which have been
squeezed within the city's boundaries.
At night, Kusadasi comes alive with an array of nightspots;
enjoy the familiar in an English or Irish themed pub, or the
more traditional open-air courtyard bar, then dance into the
small hours at one of Kusadasi's lively discos. Beach life
centres on either the man-made Town Beach near the marina, or
the longer Kadinlar Denizi (ladies Beach) about three kilometers
from the center of town, easily reached by dolmus. Five
kilometers north of the town you'll find Pygale (formerly Kustur)
Beach, an extensive and generally uncrowded sandy stretch, away
from the hustle and bustle of the resort center, and close to a
number of our chosen hotels. Finally, Pamucak Beach, slightly
farther north again, relatively undeveloped and characterized by
a small number of large, self-contained hotels.
