Beaches & Waterfalls Turkey is renowned for its beaches, and with 300 days of sun per year it is unsurprising that people flock here all year round for beach holidays . Manavgat is located inland, however Side is not far away and there are numerous and coves which are well worth exploring. Most beaches have water sports facilities to hire and this can be done both in advance and on the day. Shopping & Markets As Turkey has developed, it has done so with tourism in mind so the shopping is an excellent blend of traditional and local handicrafts, as well as the more chic and high end shops you would find at home. There is a weekly market and this is an excellent chance to experience Turkish culture and pick up a few presents for those back at home. The market specialises in spices, leather, jewellery and copperware. Golf & Sports There are numerous golf courses to pick from in Manavgat and Belek and most of them have backdrops that you just don't find in England. This, in combination with the perfect climate, makes Mangavat an excellent destination for golf holidays just as much as an afternoon off during a week of activities. In Belek there are six world class courses, but if golf is not your favourite sport then there are tennis courts, mountain biking, paragliding, river rafting and canyoning. Boat Trips The Manavgat river runs through the town and to the sea at Side, allowing for both river and sea boat tours. At Side, you can experience a traditional gulet cruise and see the sights and coast line from a completely different perspective. Diving and swimming is of course encouraged, so don't forget your bikini or bathing shorts. |

Weather in Manavgat - Explore this rich and varied natural spot The fertile plains that surround the Manavgat area are still used for agriculture and it is this fertile natural world that you enter when you arrive. Waterfalls, caves, stark and crystal pools and stunning flowing rivers are the predominant landmarks of Manavgat. Each of which is illuminated by the baking, golden sunshine that resides here over the summer and most of the year. Temperatures peak at upwards of 35C and although you might think that’s more than you can handle; there's a gentle breeze which blows across from the sea, cooling everyone and everything around it. It is the sea that is partly responsible for the incredible colouring you get in the vegetation of the area - moisture brought in with the breezes keeps the trees green.
