Saklikent Gorge About an hour’s drive from Gocek is a spectacular natural attraction, Saklikent Gorge. It is the second largest gorge in Europe and the deepest in Turkey. Villagers living in this region discovered Saklikent Gorge (hidden city) almost 20 years ago. Saklikent Gorge is the longest and deepest gorge in Turkey, 18 km long. It’s extremely steep narrow, so the sun doesn’t even get to it, which leaves it icy cold during the summertime.
Boat Trips Skopea, which stretches out from the village, is a perfect place for taking a boat trip or cruise. You can visit 12 islands that offer an abundance of sheltered coves. Tersane Island features the partially submerged ruins of a Byzantine monastery and an ancient boat-yard. There is also a restaurant on this island, making it a good stop off point. |
